Hi there,

Anyone still running version 5.09 of IMAIL and don't wanna pay for
the service agreement to upgrade to 6.x?

Well, there's a nice bug in IMAIL 5.09 (the latest available upgrade
available to us).

Try this, (at your own risks tho) Make sure you have a backup of your
IMAIL registry key.

 - Go into IMAIL administrator.

 - Click on the vhost you want to add user to.

 - Then, right click on a user and select "Add user".

 - Then, click CANCEL.

 - Right click on a user, select DELETE.

 - Now, it should ask you if you want to delete the user.

 - Click YES.

 - Now, the vhost registry key should be erased. All users are deleted
   from the registry.

 - Now it asks you if you want to delete c:\IMAIL and all it subdirectories.
Well, don't click yes. It will wipe your entire directory. Even IMAIL
   core files.

 - Get out of IMAIL admin and restore your registrys.

This works 90% of the time. Sometimes you need to try twice for the bug to
occur. Just
repeat the steps a couple of times if it first fails :)

This is an huge problem, and when we asked ipswitch to provide a fix. They
told us
they couldn't help us unless we purchase a service agreement. Which is 445$.

Why should we pay 445$ to get a problem fixed that plagued us for like 6
months now?
We've had several down times, angry customers. We finally figured out the
problem and
now ipswitch doesn't want to hear about it:

"We no longer support IMAIL 5.x"
"We doesn't even have it installed here"
"I can't help you unless you buy a service agreement"

- Can I speak to Mr. Daley?

"No, he won't speak to you unless you buy a service agreement"

Now, that's great. "Gimme ca$h, I might care"

Please, if you got 5.09, test it out. See if it erase your registrys :)

Will I buy a service agreement... hmm, lemme think. Kind of fun to PAY to be
a beta-tester.
*laugh*

Qmail + vpopmail might do it better than IMAIL. 2K$ flushed down the toilet,
wee.
