Cal & Matt,
I just had another situation very similar but not exact when the MIS Manager
changed his password and re-logged onto Outlook to retrieve e-mail...it
actually downloaded all the messages left out on the server. He then went
back in and changed his password again and the same results...it downloaded
all the messages again off the server. I thought this only worked this way
if the username was changed or deleted then put back on or if the actual
account was deleted within the client then re-setup...go figure???
Does anyone know if this is a known feature of IMail where it detects on
both username & password in regards to thinking it's a new profile?
Anything on this Dan or Eric?

We had a problem LIKE this one. It has been a while and I do not remember
all the details, but when the user logged into their computer using 1 user
name, they did a send/receive and got all their messages. Then if they
logged in as A Different User To The Computer (like a laptop that is now not
connected to the local network, but rather thru a dial-up...) when they
grabbed their mail, Imail did not recognize the profile so it assumed that
the messages had not been dl'ed as of yet, and spit them out again.

I have had this problem repeatedly with several different clients for quite
some time. I never could figure out the reason. The only way we could
clear it was to turn off the "keep copies on server x days" and do a send
and receive. This would clear the server of any messages and then we could
turn it back on until the problem occurred again. This occurred with great
frequency under Imail 5.x.
While I cannot absolutely confirm this, I believe that the problem more or
less went away when I upgraded to version 6.x
I would like any input as to why it occurred. I have had a couple of random
complaints from users, but haven't been able to verify if it is still
actually happening.
What version are you running?

Ok, I have one user that's reported this so far. She says that every other
day her Outlook 2000 client re-downloads all the messages that she has up on
the server. I have all users with the "5 days" criteria of keeping copies
of their mail on the server for emergencies. We have all Outlook clients
configured as "Internet-Only" mode for POP3, but I also have the IMAP
service running on IMail server as well. No one is having this problem but
her, so what could this be?
I mean she gets mail fine one day then the next she's receiving all mail
that's on the server. The next day this could happen all throughout the day
not just on a every other day basis. Any ideas?
