I don't use LDAP, but the same problem holds true for other user information -- the
key is that the account has to be "initialized" first. The problem I have is in
setting the forwarding and reply-to addresses, but IMail fails to set the information
(but says that it does!!!) if the account hasn't been "initialized".

>From what I can tell, the initialization is simply creating a directory for the user
>(for example, creating the directory C:\IMAIL\USERS\scott.perry). But I haven't been

The account gets intialized when the user first sends or receives E-mail (and possibly
under other situations). What I do to quickly initialize accounts is to telnet to
port 110 (POP3), and keep typing "USER user.name" followed by "RSET" (which lets you
do it again). FYI, if it says "Welcome", the account exists (you didn't type it
wrong), but if it says "send your password", the account doesn't exist (a security
flaw, in my opinion).

If I'm missing an obvious way around this, someone please let me know! :)
