[IMail Forum] mixing internal/external database, virtual and real ip

We are apparently successfully running one domain on its own ip using the
internal database, along with a large number of domains as virtual on
another ip, all using an external database. We have tested for same user
names between the two and no mixing of mail is occuring. 

Any experience with this, good or bad? We have 6.03.
