I have two questions, each related to the other. I tried sending a word file
as an attachment from a PC to a MAC. When attempting to open this attachment
on the MAC, I quickly realized that the file had been renamed to
winmail.dat, and could not open it at all. Is this client-side (because of
Outlook Express)? Or does iMail control this? Next, I tried to use the web
interface to download the attachment and then open it. Again, no luck. The
summary page said that there was an attachment, but when I went to open the
e-mail, there was no option to download the file, nor was there any
indication of an attachment. I have been successful at attaching text and
image files - any reason a word file would present such difficulties?
Thanks!
