The brackets are required by the SMTP protocol, so if an email address
doesn't have the brackets, sooner or later, some mail application pgm will
"re-write" the address so that when the address is finally "put on the
wire" the brackets will be there and the SMTP protocol will be respected.
If you dropped the users.lst in via a text file, w/o brackets, then ok, but
Imail will add the brackets "in-line" to send to those addresses, leaving
your users.lst file w/o brackets, but if Imail adds users to the users.lst
file, say with Web Msging list admin, then Imail will write the new
addresses to the file with brackets.

Backup your list file, and then just use a text editor to remove globally
all brackets.
