Yes it woould work. Imail works the same way no matter how you are connected
to the internet.  As long as you are on full time with a valid static IP
address.

Of course cable networks like @home regularly scan their customers to see if
they are running any 'servers', which apparently is a no-no for residential
customers in some cases.
