That means that there is something wrong with your system, most likely. Either that
or people have lots of huge attachments. You aren't using network drives to store
your mailboxes on, are you? Is there a noticeable delay (several seconds or more)
when deleting mail from a mailbox with only a few E-mails in it without attachments?
I'd recommend going to your directory on IMail (C:\IMail\users\youraccount), or to the
directory of someone who is having this problem, and copy the main.mbx file to
main.bak. See how long that takes. If that takes 30 seconds, you can be sure that
there is a file system problem outside of IMail.

This is one of the drawbacks about IMail's web messaging. For some reason, they refer
to messages based on their current position in the mailbox, so if you get a new E-mail
or delete an E-mail, you will have to refresh your screen in order to read a message,
for example. It's worse on our system, where you can have several E-mails open at the
same time.

FYI, I had one of the heads of a large multinational corporation say "This blows away
Hotmail" when looking at our IMail web messaging (the templates are highly modified,
though).

The first is a true problem that needs to be fixed. If you have 1 or 2 users online
at once, it shouldn't take that long to delete a message. It typically takes a second
or two here, and that's with SSL overhead, so it's no more than just going to a
different web page.
For the second problem, which for us usually only appears when someone has received a
new E-mail, we changed the message to say "You have new mail!". That way, it appears
to be a feature to endusers, rather than an error. <G>
