It takes no time at all to copy mailbox. The drives are local to the imail machine (72 gigs made up of 10,000 rpm scsi's in raid 5 config) on a dell powerserver with dual 600 mhz p3 cpus and 512 megs of ram. I seriously doubt that the hardware or network config is an issue at all (win 2000 server). Everything else is lightning fast. The sql server is even on a separate machine altogether, so all imail has to do is provide the web interface and process mail. SOme mail boxes ARE large and do have MANY attachmnts, and they are the slow ones. I can live with that, I guess. At least the issue is specific to a situation. Also, thanks for the custom message suggestion. I will try that. One final quesion.... ??????Often when users hit the back button, the browser says unable to bla bla, must refresh screen. Sometimes the refresh works, sometimes you get bounced right out of the system. Most of the time however, it does not require the refresh. Do you know what causes this and is there a browser settig or something that can get rid of it?? If you have 1 or 2 users online at once, it shouldn't take that long to delete a message. It typically takes a second or two here, and that's with SSL overhead, so it's no more than just going to a different web page. For the second problem, which for us usually only appears when someone has received a new E-mail, we changed the message to say "You have new mail!".
