Then we may be reading more to the %s than it was intended to, or can, do.
The description indictes it uses the first line of the 'infobot file' and
since your first line is the 'RE: %s' that is what is uses! Not sure why it
shows later in the message the first line of the email. I believe the %s
just tells the response to have the first line of the bot file. This would
mean that all responses would have either no subject (you have a blank line
in the file) or whatever is in the first line.
I'd try a file with a first line without variables and text for use in the
sending Subject, then the variables on lines below. Lets see what that does.
True, that may not be what you and others might want! Guess this is one for
the product manager and the development people. Once we figure out what is
does and then what people want it to do, it can go on to them.
But maybe it is so the response sent by the bot, is always the same? That
way, you can tell people 'Exactly' what the subject will be (and maybe
easier to find?)! And it can be customised for each response level, too. In
reality, the InfoManager does not look at the Subject line, only the
addresses to which the email was sent, to determine the response. So your
suggestion that it is important, may be correct (to someone reading the
mail?), but the the bot does not even care is there is one, or what its
contents were.
Maybe you want to use some combination of Rules on the main area and the
InfoManager for some other sub areas. I've not played with this combo, but
with 'Subject' based rules, you could forward to a particular 'sub area'
based on something in the subject and it would send a particular response.
Should work like I think you want, but with its own subject, not the
Senders!
