Dan,

Thanks for your response. My manager did recently install IIS which is the 
most likely culprit although he doesn't seem to thing it's a big problem 
since things appear to be working correctly. I did try disabling the IIS 
Admin Service and World Wide Publishing and then rebooting but I got the 
same error message. And I didn't see any other mail services in the control 
panel.

And while I did see the message that you refer to in the KB, the log does 
state:

Log directory d:\imail\spool
SYSLOGD 991001, Copyright � 1994-1999, Ipswitch, Inc.
Bind error 10048

So I though perhaps it might be something else.
