the "default mail server down trying secondary" message is not an IMail
message. I think that since it is getting a response to the initial
connection it is assuming that the server is up and tries to send it mail. I
would bet that all of these messages are still in the queue until the queue
timer and number of tries to return to sender are met then it bounces with
something like "delivery failed 20 attempts" message. You could put the host
and IP address for the secondary mail server in your hosts file and IMail
will send directly to that machine sans DNS lookup.
