Hi Ron,

Just gave it a try on our system here (we run the HKSI templates) and CPU
util sprung up to 25% and stayed there. Since the server is quad-proc, I'd
say my findings tend to agree with yours. Not very good at all.

cheers,
Nick

Ps When do the v2 templates come out? :)

Subject: [IMail Forum] Everyone: test your web msg SEARCH function
please...

Hi everyone,

Trying to get some feedback on what seems like a new problem with v6.04.
We've noticed that using the Search function from the webmail templates
(both stock Ipswitch templates and our own) PEGS the CPU at 100%, sometimes
for as long as 2 or 3 minutes when searching a few MB of mail. The webmail
responsiveness for other users during this period is what you would expect:
sluggish to non-existant.

As I don't remember this being an issue prior to 6.04, I'd like to know if
others have seen this? It's pretty easy to test on your own system... just
go to a relatively full mail account, search for something in all your
folders, and then take a look at the server's CPU in Task Manager. Kinda
scary that just one user can tie up your server.

It'd be nice to come up with a fix for this, besides removing the Search
function from the templates.

Thanks,
Ron
