the latter is useless as a anti-relay hijacking defense, you must use
"relay for addresses".

You need 6.04 to have the best results with SMTP AUTH.
Unfortunately even 6.04 does not give 100% SMTP AUTH reliability for
all the people all the time, esp with NS, but YMMV.
I was going to do an "SMTP AUTH keep-alive" in PERL that would
automatically check/stop/start SMTP service but I have no way of
duplicating precisely how NS manages to mess up with Imail SMTP AUTH,
while at the same time that Outlook + Imail SMTP AUTH works.
