These 30 are probably zombie "SMTP client" processes that croaked,
one by one, due to finding a bad msg in the queue. Best way to clear
them is reboot, or use the reskit's "kill pid" one by one.

List deliveries are very spiky per new list msg causing a big jump in
queued msgs and many SMTP processes spawned to handle the big queue,
but progress should be made at fairly good clip.

yeah, one or more is toxic to "SMTP client" processes.
This is a not uncommon pb. I suggest that this be a FAQ in the KB
and that Ipswitch "harden" the SMTP process against this kind of
denial of service.
To remove the killer msg, copy all queued msgs to spool\save to see
if subsequent goes out immediately, and then copy back the \save msgs
in group to see which group kills SMTP client.
