It's probably not a fixed ip anyway, but DHCP.

Have him try to send you mail and you will see what ip he's 
connecting from in the Imail logs, fwiw.

NAT "shouldn't" be a pb.

His other ISP may be blocking all port 25 access to all ip's except 
those of the DSL provider, so he can't SMTP mail to your machine.  He 
should be able to get POP3 and web mail access.

Check your logs for his activity and attempted logons.
