Hello!
I am looking for an answer to a troublesome issue.
I do not run Imail, as I am UNIX based, but the sending system having
trouble, is running IMAIL:
220 X1 NT-ESMTP Server mixcom.com (IMail 5.05 217722-2)
ehlo test
250-mixcom.com says hello
250-SIZE 50000000
250-8BITMIME
250-DSN
250-ETRN
250 EXPN
...this system is unable to send us email (most of the time)...Once in
awhile, an email will get thru. <!>
We have port 25 open to the world as well as port 113 and they are mapped
accordingly.
The reason for my post, is that I am seeking ANY information as to why this
is happening. Since we run a firewall, I am wondering if there is some port
that either needs to see 'connection refused' or permitted !?
The sending ISP is totally braindead and no help.
if we test with a system not behind a firewall, the IMAIL system is able to
send mail time and time again...so I think I am on to the trouble here
somewhere.
My SMTPD logs show an incoming connection from their system and then we
drop after we timeout. I have added their range of IPs for full access via
SMTP (no rbl or rDNS checks at all).
*ANY* help will be greatly appreciated!
