Brent,
It might be your choice of domain names, in IMail. This list runs on a host
with the name 'list.ipswitch.com', but since the change in V5 of the List
Server program (from listsrv to imailsrv), all instances (including
hostnames!) of 'listsrv' (and shorter names like your 'lists'), could be
being changed by IMail. Been a while since I traced one of these, but bounce
messages and log files can help to see this action.
Best advice, is to change the Official Host Name of these domains to just
'list' or some other completely different name.
Since you did not include the real domain, we cannot check its DNS, and
verify your, possibly correct, assumption about this being a routing (MX)
problem. Do that and I'm sure you will soon learn if the DNS is correct and
probably get suggestions on fixing it.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Listserv Question
I am setting up my first listserv and am having difficulties. The client's
email is hosted at their site and is set up in the MX record for the top
level domain - [EMAIL PROTECTED] I need to host the listserv on our
IMail server (separate from the client's site) and am using the sub-domain
[EMAIL PROTECTED] as the address. We have set up the MX record for
this and lists.domain.com resolves to the proper IP address on our machine
when pinged.
The weird thing is the interaction between the top level domain and the
sub-domain. When sending something to lists.domain.com it is returned from
the client's email server at domain.com.
I am assuming this is a routing problem and is somehow tied in with the MX
record. Is there anything I need to do in IMail when trying to have regular
mail routed to one server while setting up a sub-domain to handle the
listserv on another server? Also, any thoughts on setting up the MX record
(not my specialty - it's being handled by someone else) for this scenario
would be appreciated.
Thanks for the help,
Brent Watson
