Network or TCPIP problem! Sounds like packets are being lost or corrupted
and retries are less than succesful. Ultimately, the complete data
transaction cannot be completed. Sounds like a MTU problem, especially if
smaller messages seem to work OK. If only some portion of the network
(dilaup bad, but local LAN OK) suffers from this problem and others do not,
that would be consistant with what I have seen in the past.
IMail's SMTP will stay open many minutes, or as long as it has not recieved
a QUIT command. Even at 14.4Kbps, the 150k of data should not take too many
minutes (about 10-12) to send.
Last person I helped said the problem was a bad NIC (in one direction!) in
the server (different symptoms, but maybe you are just not reporting them as
he did). He had large number of T*.* files in the \imail\spool dir.
