ok, then I'm pretty sure Daniel's barking up the right tree.  It's 
probably gonna be tough to find and be very obscure but you've got a 
connectivity pb somewhere.  MTU? back interface, hub/switch port?

Can you send/receive to Imail on the same LAN as Imail, with big 
attachements? and huge msg bodies?
