Like I said, I have run it for years.  I had this problem once before. But not in 3 plus years to my recollection.

If I remember correctly,  NT 4 has to be totally reinstalled when you get that error..  Are you sure you didn't use an evaluation copy when you installed it.. say 120 days ago?

W2K no longer requires an complete reinstall..

Here is the KB article regarding your problem.. looks like you have a few options...

Subject: [IMail Forum] OT: NT 4.0 Expiration Error

I tried the KB but could not get any results on this

I am running NT 4.0 SP6a.  I own the software but am getting an evaluation
period expired error.  I know this is something that is a known issue but I
don't remember how to fix it. I have run NT for a long time but I had
removed it to try out win 98.  (That was a huge error in judgment). I put NT
back on a couple of months ago, maybe more.  I am getting the error that
says the server will shutdown in 1 hour....   (I did not look that close to
remember exactly what it said when it was booting.

Can anyone tell me how to overcome this or where the info is to fix?

Thanks
