It is possible to disable the drivers for the keyboard and mouse and this will prevent the errors... HOWEVER we recommend that this _not_ be done because if the box stops responding to PCAW or for some other reason requires that you plug in the mouse and KB, they will not respond... so it's better to live with the error on boot-up.

Another thought occurs to me... since web-based admin was the request... VNC is _supposed_ to have a Java applet client so that you can remote control a host through a web browser. In practice we have had trouble making this work reliably, but we have not worked hard at it and others have had much success... Although there are performance issues (in our opinion) with VNC, over a local LAN they are negligible and this applet feature would provide a nice "single client platform" solution to admin/support.

Dustin,

Yes, it is possible to do this.  I do not know of a way to prevent the error events caused by the keyboard/mouse not being plugged in.  You can just ignore those in the event log/viewer.  All the NT/IIS stuff can be done over the web in a browser....however I would highly recommend putting some remote control software on it such as PCAnywhere by Symantec.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Make NT an appliance?

Does anyone know of a good way to use a NT box like an appliance? IE - run without any keyboard or mouse or monitor, and admin through a browser? Imail is taken care of, but has anyone seen some kind of web admin for IIS? Also Is there a place on the IPSwitch site to download the IRAdmin.exe? I know you can get it from your install directory, but I do not have access to the server for the next week or so....

Thanks in advance.
