I think that 1 box would be very hopeful especially if they are all in one
domain.
That many users would realistically mean using the SQL authentication.
Odbcuser.dll which performs this task does not work very well for many users
in a single domain as it only sets up one database connection per domain,
essentially the authentication is sequential in each domain.
For this size of single domain I would be looking at something on a larger
scale and price range.
