Sheldon,
Long time, no hear from you!
Kill.lst is a file used by SMTP (or a List Server) that contains email
addresses or host/domain names, for which email is not accepted. Rules.ima,
is a file with rule code that is used to determine what to do with a message
that contains something that matches the rule(s). A Rule could just sort
your email into separate mailboxes or even deleted email from a particulasr
address (not exactly like Kill, as the message is accepted, then just thrown
away. Kill will keep the message from being accepted.) They serve different
functions so you may want to use both.
I 'kill' email addresses like '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' (the SMTP service rejects
them) and that would be different if used in rules (email would be accepted
to my account, but rule could do many different things, one being delete it,
or another, send to different mailbox for me to delete). Rules can also find
things like viri, where Kill cannot.
Suggest manual (and Help) for more details, and KB, too!
Happy Holidays!
Daniel Donnelly
