Nothing has changed. Further research has revealed that a small fraction of
the messages go through. On our listserver we have approximately 500-600
@home.com subscribers and about 50 of them are getting their mail on any
given day and that is after 20 retries. One lady I talked to received one
newletter in the past 7 days. That means that we have been able to connect
to @home once in over 120 attempts to connect. I think these are incredible
stats for the unreliability of @home to process mail for their users.

: Chuck,
:
: Re:
: >: CS> Should I be entering the virtual hosts names and IP addresses in
the
: "winnt\...\etc\hosts" file?
:
: No, that is not needed.
:
: Anything 'change' on that computer, in the week before the trouble began?
: Any new software installed or enabled or reconfigured? Any new errors or
: warnings in NT Event logs?
:
: I think this is a clue: <We have telneted to port 25 on the
: @home ip addresses and are able to connect (some of the time).
:
: If IMail can connect, it should go through, but if it cannot, that would
: duplicate your symptoms. The real question is, 'does the email eventually
: get through?'. If it does, I would have to believe the problem is on the
: @home.com end. If the users of the problem domain, always get 'returned'
: messages, then that would indicate the problem is bigger.
:
: Just because you see an occasional MX connect fail message, does not mean
: that there is anything more than a transient problem. This is perfectly
: normal, and most likely to occur, when the remote end is busy or not
: answering.
