Telnet from the client machine to the server on port 25?
If that works, then there may be an outlook problem perhaps?
That's my two cents anyway.

Either that or port 25 is blocked by their ISP. They may have to set it up
to do pop with your server to receive mail and send via their ISP server.

Sounds like their smtp settings are not setup correctly. Make sure the smtp
server in that account is either your server, or the smtp server of their
dial up service provider.

I have a client using Outlook Express 5, and they're saying that they can
get their mail without a problem, but can't send mail on the same account.
I've gone through all the basic setup stuff with them, and everything seems
to be correct. I set up the mail account on my workstations (Outlook 2000),
and it works fine for me.
Anyone ever seen this problem before? I'm at a loss. I've searched the MS
Knowledge Base and Deja, but to no avail.
TIA
-Jeff
