All,
Lately I've been having some issues with bounced messages from a mail
server. I believe it is DNS related, yet everytime I come across a bounced
message everything checks out. Here is a snippet of a log that shows one
such error..

02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) >EHLO bankofwashtenaw.com
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) 250-mailhost.aix.cc
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) 250-PIPELINING
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) 250-SIZE 10240000
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) 250-ETRN
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) 250 8BITMIME
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) >MAIL FROM:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) 250 Ok
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) >RCPT To:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) 450 Client host rejected: cannot find your
hostname, [207.254.115.79]
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) >QUIT
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) 221 Bye
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) requeuing C:\IMail\spool\Q25c6864.GSP R0 T1
02:06 13:56 SMTP-(00000574) finished C:\IMail\spool\Q25c6864.GSP status=3

I can do a reverse lookup and find the hostname yet...?
The real problem is when something does get stuck in the queue, messages
back up and are not sending until the bad message finally bounces back to
sender. It won't spawn any more sessions or send any messages..

Ideas? Opinions?

TIA,

Dan
