a) Sounds like a problem with your relay settings... did you stop/start
services after applying changes? If so grab some logs!
b) Ignore source address in security check - you'll need that for AOL's
beautiful proxy system.

Subject: [IMail Forum] modifying: X-MAILER value
Len,
Thanks for all of your comments. I tracked the problem to be caused by
some of the Compaq Management Software. Things are working better at this
time.
Onto another subject:
Does anyone know how to change the X-MAIL value from Imail to something
else? The reason for all of the changes, I am really terrified of someone
know that the server is NT and start attaching it. I have changed the
hello message to something else, all that is left is the X-Mailer value in
the headers.
I also had someone report that:
a) the latest version of Outlook cannot send out messages, but can receive
messages okay. I have changed the SMTP Relay to allow all - that did not
help.
b) some AOL users can not access iwebmsg - are there special setting in the
security for this??? AOL does some rotation of ip address or something
like that??
Thanks in advance.
Hawk
