Yes, I like NS, too, and almost went with them but for a bandwidth
shaping project (not firewall) for a wireless local loop project that
fell through. I felt they had the best bang for the bandwidth
shaping buck back then, esp vs. much more expensive Allot et al, but
now I think etinc.com bw-mgr on FreeBSD is the best value in bw management.
Also, the Nortel Instant Internet 100S and 400S are very fine boxes,
do VPN/IPsec at fairly high rates, NAT, DHCP, DMZ, ssh, out-of-band mgt, etc.
I just visited a consultant/friend in San Antonio who has about 40
consulting clients' offices around town on DSL links into his DSL
link, all running Instant Internet/VPN so he can get securely into
their sites for pcAnwhere support.
The Nortel/Instant Internet design group (ex-Datapoint,
ex-Performance Technology in San Antonio and ex-colleagues of mine
who invented ARCNET) runs Imail, fwiw. I suggested IMGate but they
had already setup sendmail in the same role. I was never able to keep
up with those guys. :)))
