that's just what I was getting at, how to make them the same for 
RADIUS and Imail and postfix SMTP AUTH?

but Imail won't work with RADIUS or external LDAP.

no, but i think most people prefer it that way, and might even be 
surprised that they can be different, and perplexed how to do it in 
the mail client pgms.

ok, I can see where that would work, by excluding the Imail conection 
completely.
