Imail still stores user values in registry even though you may have an
external database.

Subject: [IMail Forum] True Backup Email Server

Hello All.

I was thinking on the weekend after reading a peering thread on this
list. Would the following offer a true backup IMail peer server solution.

2 Machines with IMail installed and unique IP's. Both machines using a
odbc source for adding and authenticating users. Both machines pointing to
the same directories for mail storage. This way if I add a user using the
odbc, both boxes get updated. If the first box goes down, DNS is pointing
to the second as backup. Since the second box uses the same directory as
the first for storage, pop3 should work fine with no email missed. SMTP
will work in both instances as well. Thoughts?

Cheers
