Usually that happens if IMail can't send the mail. It stays in the queue until it
gets sent, or your server gives up trying to send it.

That's normal, if you have a dozen E-mails that are being sent out. The SMTP32
process doesn't use much CPU time.
The only problem would be if the same ones (check the PID) stay there for a long time
(say an hour or so), which could indicate a problem (or just a large E-mail).

If you ended a process that was in the middle of sending an E-mail, that could happen.
Chances are, the E-mail would sit until IMail later realized there was a problem and
unlocked the appropriate files.
If there are files stuck in the queue, you can check the log or use the IMail
administrator or web admin tools to see how what went wrong and how many tries it has
taken to send the mail.
