This is one of my 5000 customers who are using private IP Addresses with
NAT. There are probably 35 errors by IP in today's log.

It could just be someone who mis-typed their user/password into their
email client setup.
Since that IP address is in the 172.16/12 Private IP range I'll
assume he's on your LAN. Why not just ask them?
