SMTVSVC could not bind instance 1 - sound like you have Microsoft SMTP
server running, which installs with IIS. It wants to use port 25, and iMail
wants port 25 as well. You need to disable Microsoft SMTP service, or change
it to a different port.
That may not correct all of your problems, but its a start.

Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Windows 2000 Crashing
Hi Chris. First of all, thank you so much for your prompt response. In
regards to hardware resources, I have an AMD AThlon 850 with 256MB RAM.
I looked at event viewer. At one time it was saying Event ID: 115 Source
SMTPSVC could not bind instance 1. To try and fix this, I formatted the
hard drive and did a fresh install. Now when I attempt to send mail, it
goes to the blue screen of death and starts a physical memory dump. After
restarting, I check the event logs and the only error reported is:
Event ID: 1001. {The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x000000d1, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xfcc2bc70}. A dump was saved in
C:\WINNT\MEMORY.DMP.
Event ID: 6008. The previous system shutdown at 2:00:18PM on 4/7/2001 was
unexpected.
My IIS5 was setup when I installed Win2K Server, and then I installed my
Imail. When I installed Win2k Server this time, I didn't install the SMTP
service. I don't see any instance of SMTP in my services list either.
Thanks for your help, and I will be right here if you decide to write back.
Respectfully Yours,
Jameo
