Standard antivirus software will not scan E-mail attachments. You can run a standard
AV program on your IMail server, but the only thing it will catch are outgoing E-mail
attachments sent through web messaging (since these are stored in the spool directory
in raw format before being encoded).
If you want to stop any inbound viruses, or outgoing viruses sent through SMTP, you
will need something more than a standard AV program. WebShield SMTP should do the
trick, if you want. We also sell a program Declude Virus that scans the E-mail
attachments by integrating with IMail and any standard AV program (
