I haven't encountered that problem.  I've seen nested aliases done before without a 
problem.  In fact, when we wrote a program to make sure that no aliases had over 50 
users in them, we had to account for nested aliases.

Are you sure you don't have over 50 users total that the E-mail would go to?  Are you 
sure there isn't any recursion (alias1 pointing to alias2, which points to alias1)?
