Here's how we did it. I'm not sure if it'll work this way on a single
computer.
We have both IMail and Exchange set up to share a single domain. They both
think they "own" the domain. The MX record points to IMail. Our Imail box is
set to something like imail.xxx.com, while the exchange box is set to
exchange.xxx.com. This is needed for forwarding.
All Exchange users have IMail aliases that forwards their messages to
Exchange ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). All IMail users have Exchange Custom
Recipients that forwards their messages to IMail ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).

Subject: [IMail Forum] EXCHANGE IMAIL ON THE SAME MACHINE
I am setup imail and exchange on the same machine.
Imail 6.0 listens on port 25 and the outside ip address
exchange listens on port 2525 of the interior ip address
the mail sits in the imail mailbox, how does exchange get the mail
from the imail server?
Scott
