Looks like you should be asking your remote gateway to allow you to relay
off their server. If you are an customer of there and you have IP address
allocated by them then they should be willing to do this. Otherwise you
should remove the gateway host and just let you server retry normally.
You may also want to try Len Conrad's solution to all things relaying and
spam related at http://IMGate.MEIway.com. This would at least take the
burden of relaying to slow hosts off your IMail server.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Latency problem and ip name lookup failed.
Hi...I need some advice and confirmation of my below analysis.
There is always "unknown error" email in my system.
There is a latency problem between Singapore and Malaysia. My remote gateway
host is set to mail.magix.com.sg
If there latency (look at case A), then the mail failed to deliver. Then the
email will be sent thru my remote gateway host.
But , my remote gateway host does not know the [EMAIL PROTECTED] user. ( CASE 2
) Does not recognise the domain. So the mail is rejected.
If I leave the remote gateway host blank, will it solve the problem ?
Actually, an email will try to send again and again according to the queue
timer and no of retries .
Is my analysis correct ?
thks.
