Adrin,
Normally, in IMail, the 'Remote mail gateway' _is_ left blank and IMail does
all the delivery attempts. However, when that field is filled out, then
IMail tries 3 times, then delivers to the gateway (which MUST be a server
that will deliver your email, but it appears that is not the case and you
should follow Steve's advice!). You can also enable the 'Sent all
remote....' and IMail will skip the 3 delivery attempts and send to the
gateway on the first try.
Will no entry 'fix' the problem, I don't see how it could. But IMail will
keep trying and when it is able to connect, it should be able to deliver.
And it won't try the gateway, so mail won't be returned after just 3 tries,
but after the number in the SMTP settings.
