Dave was very close, thanks for your help and that of the eminent tech
support staff at IMail!!
The message actually comes from a Watchguard Firebox II - our IMail server
is behind the firewall and the firewall was set to limit the size of
messages to 3 Meg. Of course I had no clue the firewall could do this.
Once I was able to convince our ISP to reconfigure our firewall, I was able
to send large attachments. IMail Tech Staff troubleshot this by - going to
the Web Messaging Client and sending myself a large attachment. Then I went
to another server behind the firewall and used outlook express to send a
large attachment. It all worked.
