Lyris has its own built in mail server, plus list processing capabilities,
logging, tracking, etc.... It is a tool to put you in the list business
or to let you run one big list, and it uses its own POP / SMTP server to do it.
Of course, adding a few of Len's IMGate's would probably speed up sending
drastically by offloading the SMTP process from the Lyris machine to one
or more IMGate machines. While Lyris is fast, the faster you want it to
go, the
bigger (ie, $$$$$$$$) license you need.
