We use & recommend McAfee (Netshield) w/ declude on the mail server and
Norton on the desktops.
Broader coverage and nearly automatic.

|
|
| Hi All,
| Been contemplating the move to Declude Virus for Imail.
|
| I've read the threads regarding you can't use Norton because
| Norton doesn't
| include a good command line scanner (something Declude needs to work).
|
| Also, just for the record, everything that's been mentioned in this list
| about SMTP virus scanners is true, what a joke. Because of my
| very positive
| history with Norton, I went and purchased Norton for Email Gateways. The
| only way I could get it to pass the RSS relay test was to make it refuse
| mail from anyone. Not very functional. I could have put up another
| machine in front running sendmail or Imail to enforce relaying, but what a
| complicated pain in the a** that would have been, not to mention
| the expense
| of another machine.
|
| We are using Norton AV Corp Edition on all of our Windows servers and
| workstations, and I love it (they just don't know how to write an SMTP
| server). Is there a problem in still using Norton on the Imail machine to
| protect the rest of the machine, and using FProt just to scan via command
| line with Declude?
