It can, but we do not recommend it.
Older versions of Norton have a working command line scanner that you can
use. With the newer versions, you can use their on-access scanner which
should delete files with viruses as soon as Declude writes them to the hard
drive. However, you have to rely on Norton's ability to do that
immediately. If it takes Norton longer than one timeslice to scan the file
for some reason, there's a chance that it may not be able to delete it in
time. Without knowing the inner workings of Norton, we can't say for sure.

McAfee has at least 3 different OS-specific versions of VirusScan, which
makes things very confusing. For NT/2000 Server, you need their
MultiPlatform version which comes with their VirusScan Security Suite. If
you're lucky enough to find it, they are probably going to make you buy 5
copies of it.
>What's the suggested version of MacAfee for NT Server?
If you decide to go with McAfee, you need "One copy of the MultiPlatform
version of VirusScan". Or, "One copy of the VirusScan Security Suite". If
you can get just one copy, it's about $60.
Because of all this hassle (OK, it's selfish; I get tired of writing out
lengthy instructions on how to find their hidden web pages, and
instructions on how to bypass their hard-pressure salespeople), we think
F-Prot ( http://www.frisk.is ) may be a better choice for most. I've never
heard of people having problems running F-Prot.
