Hi Casimir..
Your best bet is to have everyone download all there mail locally
using POP or sync using IMAP, Change your MX record to your new server and
tell users to configure Outlook client in corporate workgroup mode, so they
can take advantage of calandering.
Then setup the new exchange 2000 server and mail enable the user
accounts in AD.
However, Imail is an excellent list server, so I would still
keep it for this purpose and turn off IMAP and POP services.
( There is also a way to import mail from Exchange 2000 using LDAP
but I have not tested it. )
