It's not just you. Although I don't agree with # 5. I find it easier to
follow a thread if the entire email is entered. Often we get off an a
tangent and it's useful to read the original message days after it's been
deleted.
But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Maybe it's just me; if so, I apologize. I am usually subscribed to the IMail
Forum list in digest mode and people who use rich-text/HTML formatting when
writing to this list generate large amounts of data following the plain-text
version of their messages. I've worn out the wheel on my Intellimouse
because of this. Twice. ;)
If I may rant a little:
1. Please use plain text when posting to this (or any other) discussion list
unless you have a very compelling reason to use HTML (and I can't think of
any)
2. Please use a new subject line when posting if your message doesn't follow
a thread (i.e. asking about peering when quoting an earlier posting about
antivirus solutions)
3. It's okay to ask off-topic questions -- I've been guilty of inquiring
about pcAnywhere issues here (and got useful responses!) -- but I always
made sure to put "OT" in the subject field
4. Item 3 does not guarantee that you will get a friendly answer, if any
answer at all. This is perfectly normal and sensible for an *IMail* list
5. Please include only the relevant parts of what you are replying to. (See
Len's style as an example)
6. Do not ask for a confirmation receipt; you risk getting thousands
(deliberately sent to annoy you) and it also annoys list subscribers big
time
7. Attaching Vcards is not all that useful, in my not-so-humble opinion
8. Starting a thread about the "tone" on this list is likely not useful nor
helpful nor productive in the eyes of the vast majority of subscribers, I
think
9. Appending lengthy disclaimers about privacy and suchlike is ironic when
posting to a public discussion list; just more scrolling for the recipients
and no real purpose nor sense
10. This one was put in just to have a round number of items :)
Well, I just violated a few of the above by writing this but I have a
feeling that there are other members who share my views. This is a fantastic
list, warts and all, and it would be even more fantastic if people followed
a few simple guidelines. Thanks in advance for not flaming me ;)
