PRIVMSG #malta
This is a private message command on irc aimed at a channel named Malta.
The #sign signifies a channel or a room.
Why it's showing up on your mail server is beyond me..never seen an IRC
command trying to contact a mail server like that.

well, the above is RCPT TO: is screwed up, there�s no trailing ">", plus
the crap following "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" is not an email address.

infected or not, the messages have nothing to do with valid email
addresses
on your server. I suspect their IRC thingy is badly configured or
cracked. Maybe there are some IRC experts here who can help.

don�t count on that. Defend yourself as much as you can and let them
take
care of their crap.
You can also try to find out which are the users on your ip's and tell
them
the mail traffic they are sending and receiving is not compliant with
internet mail starndards nor with your Terms of Service which you make
up
as you go along. :))
