I don't use Netshield with Declude. I do have Netshield on my IMail box to
protect for other types of server viruses. I use the McAfee command line
scanner with Declude.
The Declude Virus & Imail combination provide our organization with much
more than Webshield offers. Anti-spam is handled with both Declude Junkmail
& IMail, rules are provided directly with IMail, Attach filter is handled by
Declude (banning), logging is handled by both Declude Virus/Junkmail &
Imail. There is no need to reconfigure Imail or SMTP ports to work with
Declude. Declude is incredibly fast -- we also had problems where Webshield
could not handle multiple instances of virus-attachment scanning at a
time -- so for us it took up to 25 seconds for the Webshield SMTP connection
to final take emails. Process time for sending 10 emails with 10
attachments via Webshield is about 22 seconds once the 25 second
waiting-to-connect delay happened; versus less than 2 seconds for
Declude/Imail.
In your current situation: inbound mail comes to port 25 (SMTP handled by
Webshield), it scans it and sends it internally on port 225 to IMail, and
IMail delivers the mail. Outbound mail should be sent to the mail-server on
port 25 -- it doesn't need to go to Imail, it's going to the SMTP server
which is Webshield.

Jack,
OK but do you use Netshield ( McAfee)with Declude?
For me Webshield has: antispam, rules, attach filter, log, etc that declude
virus pro has not.
In my case Imail and Webshield are in the same machine, so when a user send
an email it goes through webshield por 25 directly. The problem is when
Imail need to send external emails to Internet and has 225 like SMTP port.
How to get that?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Fernando Martin
