That is probably the list server propagating the replies it is getting every
time the postmaster at Excite's auto responder sends a message back to the
list. based on what I've read I would guess this is an open list that
anyone can post to and that both ends are carrying on full out exchanges of
messages. If you block one end or the other for a few hours it should all
stop. Think of it as a positive feed back loop that will operate at the
maximum level until one end or the other either runs out of resources or
crashes, probably in that order.
