hi,
Not trying to start a war.
I sincerely need opinions and feedback
on which DNS server to run.
the free one being at
http://BIND8NT.MEIway.com at Len's site.
I don't have complicated W2000 stuff to
run.
I'm concerned mainly about:
- since I don't want to have to reload the
entire DNS server each time I add a zone, the
ability to tell the
DNS server to update only for ONE zone
at a time is important.
- easy integration (easy to add zones from
any programming interface); I don't want to
use some clunky GUI tool to add a few hundred. :)
- secure (no serious known security holes)
- stable
- reasonable performance
- scalable (will not hit 100K domains, but I just like
the idea of telling the boss it can hit
50-100K domains or more) :)
- Windows 2000 Server cost is not an issue.
- easy to setup Secondary Domains to replicate
from the primary
I'll appreciate any opinions and feedback that you
have.
thanks,
John
