That sounds like it may be a different issue then. The IMail bug occurs at
(seemingly) random times, with random domains. If it's always happening
with that one domain, this may be a different issue.

I know it was happening on v6, and am pretty sure it's continuing on v7.

No. They do have an MX record (they are doing everything correctly).
You might want to try connecting directly to the DNS server that IMail
uses, and see what it reports as the MX record. It may have corrupt
information, and may be reporting an incorrect answer:
nslookup
server 1.2.3.4 [replace 1.2.3.4 with the DNS server that IMail uses]
set type=mx
autonation.com
You should see two lines with MX records; if not, the problem may be with
your DNS server.
